REVIEW: Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow

I was extremely disppointed with this product. I have really oily lids, so this just did not work for me. The colors look soo pretty but only stay on my eyes for about two minutes. Even with a base, they don't stay put very well. They are smudgy, greasy & hard to apply with the fingers. I'm never going to buy these again. This is a total waste of money..
UPDATE 6-10-09: So... I guess these arent so bad. I used this one day as a base was suprised to see that my shadows hadnt creased 5 hours later. I dont know why I reviews this so horribly! GEEZ. It's worth a try!

Trip to MAC

MAC Studio Sculpt FoundationA creamy, luxurious, gel-based foundation that provides medium buildable to high coverage with a natural satin finish. Hydrating, instantly revitalizes the skin while keeping it looking smooth, soft and plush. Long-wearing, water-resistant.

Studio Sculpt Concealer

A creamy concealer that provides full coverage with a natural matte finish. Brushes on with enough blend time to conceal any size of blemish. Rich formulation allows you to use a micro-amount of product to even out skin. Water-resistant and long-wearing.

After hearing all the rave reviews, I had to get Studio Sculpt foundation and concealer.

I changed it up because I got it in NW 30, but I've been wearing NC35-40 for so long. I was told that I should try out NW but I could go either way. This is because my neck is more of a yellow tone and my face is more reddish, which sucks! That's why i can never find a perfect foundation that matches my skin tone.

ANYWAYS, I love it! I love that it's a satin finish foundation because it looks so nice on my skin! It goes on very smoothly with minimal streaking which is a big plus! It's medium coverage so its not too heavy but gives me the coverage that I need. I love that it comes in a plastic tube because I will be able to get most of the product out when I'm running low in the future.

The concealer is great because its full coverage and I def. need that for my blemishes. My skin looked almost flawless!

I also got... sketch e/s A nice shade of dark purple/brown with red shimmer

sumptuous olive e/s A beautiful shade of greenish khaki and gold

:-( I skipped out on Hello Kitty for now because I need to save money!! I'm soo sad I wanted the lip conditioner in Pink Fish and shadow palettes sooo bad! Next time!

Rôle Rose dollar store makeup

I was at the dollar store a long time ago looking for something.. I dont remember what.. But they didnt have it so I ended up looking at the CHEAP makeup. I saw some eyeshodow palettes and swatched a little on my fingers. I was suprised by the pigmentation. The cashier said they were about $1.25 so I figured I would buy it. The sadows arent that bad for dollar store makeup, I'm suprised. I only found one website with this makeup --> Click here for the site, (I dont know if this site is reliable though because I havent bough anything from it) but if you find this at your local dollar store, see how you like it and get it there because its almost 75 cents cheaper in the store. If you like shimmery eyeshadow, just starting out with makeup, or just looking for dirt cheap makeup I would recommend this.

Maybelline XXL Extensions Mascara

Claims:
"tames lashes" by "uncrossing unruly lashes and locking them into place"

Why You'll Love It
Beautifully tamed lashes with length beyond belief.
Ultra-black top coat visibly lengthens lashes up to 85%
Contact Lens Safe
Ophthalmologist Tested

MY REVIEW
I really like this mascara so far. It really did uncross my "unruly lashes" hahah. This mascara gives you length and a little volume (not as much as I like). I didnt get any clumping when I put this on which is a BIG plus. It doesnt weigh down your lashes- gives you a sort of natural look. I would recommend this mascara to anyone looking for length and not too much volume.

Lash Blast Luxe

The blackest-black LashBlast formula, now tinted with luxe shimmers. The giant Luxe brush helps blast lashes to their biggest, boldest, and most beautifully shimmering. In 4 shades that are ready to match your every mood.

MY REVIEW
I got black platinum. Honestly, I don't see any difference from the original Lash Blast. You can't see any shimmer unless you're right up next to the mirror. Maybe I was expecting to get really shimmery lashes that would make my eyes POP.. I think if you want to buy this mascara, just buy lash blast the original. maybe it was the lighting in my room.. I'll give this a few days and update my feelings about this mascara.

*As a Mascara I give it a 5 but I wasted money because I already have one lash blast in use and another that I havent opened yet.
*As a eye color enhancer or whatever you want to call it, I give it a 2.5

The fragrances that turn men on and off

Aol.com

Powdery = Turn-Off

Unsurprisingly, our man panel unanimously opposed anything that smelled remotely like their grandmothers. The biggest scent-offender in this category? Powder odors, especially in super-concentrated forms. Besides noting these scents reminded them of little old ladies, the guys also mentioned their dislike of the overpowering rubbing-alcohol aftersmell. The bottom line: If a perfume is on your nana's dressing table, it shouldn't be on yours (sorry, Grammy!).

Spicy Florals = Turn-On
You might think guys are all about younger women, but it turns out they don't want their gal pal to smell like one. Our sniffers loved sophisticated scents like Chance by Chanel and Marc Jacobs Daisy. Look for floral notes infused with sweeter ones (like vanilla) and spicier ones (like white woods). As one guy put it after sampling Chance, "It doesn't smell like something a high school girl would wear. It smells expensive." A signature scent that makes us feel (and smell) like a million bucks? Sign us up!

Clean Scents = Turn-On

You're not the only one who likes that just-out-of-the-shower feeling. Our man testers said oui oui to Christian Dior's orchid-infused J'Adore, claiming it smelled natural, like the girl next door. Of the Estée Lauder fragrance Pure White Linen one guy said, "It smells fresh-in a sexy way that makes me want to jump into bed and mess up the sheets." He can thank the combination of gardenia petals, white freesia and dewy greens for that. Other clean scents to try: Lancome Miracle, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and Yves Saint Laurent Elle.

Desserts = Turn-Off

The smell our testers got the most excited about came from a street vendor selling meat outside a local perfumerie. But don't douse yourself in eau de shwarma just yet. "I don't think women should smell like food-nor should men for that matter," quipped one guy. Vanilla, however, was the exception. The men thought Laura Mercier' French Vanilla Souffle Body Creme was lickably good.

Woody and Floral = Turn-On

Don't be put off if a perfume says musky, spicy or woody on the label. Although you might think the notes are masculine, these multilayered scents smell great on you-and will win him over in a big, big way. "It smells like pure sex. It really does. I'm giving it to my girlfriend the first chance I get," one guy said about Very Sexy by Victoria's Secret, which boasts pepper, vanilla orchid and soft wood scents, among others. "If I smelled this on a girl," another guy said of the white pepper, patchouli and amber blend of Christian Lacroix Rouge, "I'd think she was pretty outgoing-which is a good thing-since it hits you a little bit more than the floral or powdery stuff." If you're into flirting through your fragrance, you could also try Calvin Klein's Secret Obsession Perfume or Tom Ford Black Orchid.

Strong Florals = Turn-Off

It may come as a surprise, but not too many guys are into stopping and smelling the roses-or any other kind of strong floral scent. "If it's too flowery, it makes me think of an old lady," noted one dude after getting a whiff of a bouquet-like perfume. (Maybe that explains why so many guys are hesitant to give flowers?)
Super Fruity = Turn-Off

According to our scent testers, sugary-smelling, fruity perfumes make guys think of the candy store or the kitchen, not the bedroom. "It smells like Jolly Ranchers, and I like Jolly Ranchers, but I'm not sure I'd want a girl to smell like one," one tester said after inhaling an apple-scented spray. Pear, honeydew and lemon scents all fared the same: "Citrusy and desserty smells make me hungry, not turned on," another guy said. Case closed.
Fresh Subtle Citrus = Turn-On

Our guy testers gave the thumbs-down to perfumes with overwhelming notes of orange or lemon, but fragrances with just a hint of citrus mixed with a soft floral scent got the A-OK. "It's sassy, it's got a kick," one guy said about Clinique's aptly named Hint of Citrus solid fragrance. "I could see a girl with attitude wearing it." Hermes Un Jardin Apres La Mousson and L L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani both balance blossom notes with a fresh, fruity scent.

Bare Minerals

bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation (Medium Tan C3)

I bought this mineral foundation a while ago when I was in New York because I have a lot of liquid foundation and thought that they were breaking me out. When I got home I didn't like the way it looked on my face.

BUT...

I recently took it out and decided to see how I feel about it now. I really like the way it looks.. I don't know what the difference is but I like it a lot hehehe.. My skin tone looks even and it is OK at covering up my blemishes. I had a brush that it came with, but in my opinion it is too tightly packed for foundation application. So, I use the Flat Mineral Bronzer Buffer that I got from Coastalscents.com

Mascara

mascara is a must have.

I think mascara completes every look. without mascara I feel naked. Everyone looks for something different with mascara, I like VOLUMEEE, length, & nooo clumps!! So, I'm going to share with you how I feel about the mascara that I have and my top faves right now.

some of my mascara

oOo Press the products for pics oOo

Maybelline Define A Lash. No me gusta. If you're looking for separation and no clumps, this is the mascara for you. But that's basically all it does. waste of money for me. brush is flimsy, so you don't get volume because of that I guess??...

Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express. Clumpsss. When I first bought this mascara i thought I liked it. But now I don't think I do! I tried it out today and its CLUMP CITY! Maybe I didn't completely remove my mascara I had on earlier, I'll do a review again in the future.. I don't mind the strong smell and i like the brush because it separates well.

I didn't curl my lashes

MAC Zoom Lash. Wet Mascara Much? Good lengthening mascara.. Very little clumping. If you like wetter mascaras then get this. I like to use it for my bottom lashes sometimes because the brush is small so its easy to get most of them covered.

*TOP MASCARAS*
MAC Plush Lash. No Clumps. I like this mascara because it doesn't clump up my lashes. Lengthening and volume is okay.

L'Oreal Voluminous. Cheap Love. One of the best drug store mascaras. Great volume, very little clumping. Great mascara for little cost.

CoverGirl LashBlast. Dont own it? Get it! One word= LOVE. No clumping. Lots of length. Lots of Volume! What more could a girl ask for?

DiorShow Mascara. Pricey love. Makes my lashes look almost perfect without weighing them down. Try it if you don't mind spending some $$.

Matte Creme

A matte-ifying cream that acts like a powder, M·A·C Matte adds a sheer, no-shine matte texture in one smooth layer. May be used on bare or made-up skin. Use a latex sponge or a 252 Large Shader Brush to apply over the entire face or in the T-zone to reduce the appearance of shine. Apply M·A·C Matte after moisturizer, but before foundation to prime the skin for makeup. Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation applies smoothly and effortlessly over top of M·A·C Matte. Apply M·A·C Matte to eyelids before applying Eye Shadow or Paints to help increase the longevity of the makeup and reduce creasing.
